Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh bukti empirik tentang pengaruh metode pembelajaran example-based learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis dan self-confidence siswa pada materi garis singgung lingkaran. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 6 Kota Serang semester genap tahun ajaran 2018/2019, dengan pengambilan sampel dengan teknik cluster random sampling untuk memilih dua kelas yang akan mendapatkan perlakuan, yaitu kelas eksperimen dengan metode example-based learning dan kelas kontrol dengan metode pembelajaran biasa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian the matching only pretest-postest kontrol group design. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa: (1) metode pembelajaran example- based learning berpengaruh baik terhadap peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa pada materi garis singgung lingkaran (2) metode example-based learning tidak berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan self-confidence siswa.

Additional Information: The purpose of this research is to obtain empirical evidence of the influence of example-based learning methods on the ability of mathematical representation and self-confidence of students in circle tangent material. The population in this study is all students 8th Grade of 6 Junior High School in Serang City in academic year 2018/2019, with sampling with cluster random sampling techniques to select the two classes that will get treatment, which is the class Experiment with the example-based learning method and the kontrol class with the usual learning methods. This research is a study of quasi experiments with the design of research the matching only pretest- postest kontrol group design. The results concluded that: (1) The example-based learning method influences both the improvement of the mathematical representation of the students in the circle of tangent material (2) The example-based learning method has no effect To the improvement of self-confidence students.
