Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran project based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII pada konsep bahaya merokok bagi sistem pernapasan di SMP Negeri 14 Kota Serang. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya peran pendidikan dalam mengatasi penyimpangan merokok, yang membutuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa agar siswa mengetahui sendiri apa saja bahaya merokok, penggunaan model project based learning diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa terhadap bahaya merokok bagi sistem pernapasan. Metode yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini yaitu quasi experimental design dengan menggunakan desain nonequivalent control group design, dimana terdapat kelas kontrol (VIII C) dan kelas eksperimen (VIII D) masing-masing berjumlah 34 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan uji hipotesis pada kedua kelas dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < α = 0,05, H1 diterima, dengan nilai indeks N-Gain kelas kontrol sebesar 0,13 yang berada pada kategori rendah, sedangkan kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,38 yang berada pada kategori sedang. Persentase nilai rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen sebesar 78,1% berada dalam kategori baik dan kelas kontrol sebesar 65,1% berada dalam kategori cukup baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran project based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

| Additional Information: | This research aims to determine the effect of project based learning learning models on the critical thinking skills of class VIII students on the concept of the dangers of smoking for the respiratory system in SMPN 14 Kota Serang. This research is motivated by the importance of the role of education in overcoming smoking deviations, which requires students’ critical thinking skills so that students know for themselves the dangers of smoking, the use of project based learning models is expected to improve students' critical thinking skills towards the dangers of smoking to the respiratory system. The method used for this study is quasi experimental design using nonequivalent control group design, there are control classes (VIII C) and experimental class (VIII D) each of the class is 34 students. The results showed hypothesis testing in both classes with a significance value of 0,000 <α = 0.05, H1 was accepted, with the N-Gain index of the control class of 0.13 which was in the low category, while the experimental class was 0.38 which was in the medium category. The percentage of the average value of the experimental class post-test of 78.1% is in the good category and the control class is 65.1% in the fairly good category. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is an influence of the project based learning learning model on students' critical thinking abilities. | |||||||||
