Abstract

This study aims to determine whether improving the ability problem solving mathematical. The main purpose of this research is to knowing the comparison of students mathematical problem solving ability using cooperative learning model with Team Assisted Individualization (TAI), Think Pair Share (TPS), and Teams Games Tournament (TGT). The study used quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study are the students of class VII SMPN 18 Tangerang City academic year 2017/2018 even semester. Sampling usedq purposive sampling technique to obtain three experimental class of ten class where class one using cooperative learning model type TAI, class two using cooperative learning model type TPS, and class three using cooperative learning model type TGT. The instruments which is used the test of mathematical problem solving ability. Analysis data used Anova one way and post hoc test with test-t Dunnet. The result of this research conclude that: (1) The average of mathematical problem solving ability using cooperative learning model with Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) is not better than cooperative learning model with Think Pair Share (TPS); (2) The average of mathematical problem solving ability using cooperative learning model with Think Pair Share (TPS) is better than cooperative learning model with Teams Games Tournament (TGT); (3) The average of mathematical problem solving ability using cooperative learning model with Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) is better than cooperative learning model with Teams Games Tournament (TGT).
