Abstract
The purpose of this study are: (1) to know the moral values contained in the novel Mengejar-chic Dream Dedi Paddy; (2) to know how the form of delivering moral messages directly or indirectly; (3) find out whether it can be used as a learning material in junior high school. The method used in this research is qualitative with content analysis technique. To express the moral values in the novel Pursuing Dreams by Dedi Padiku see from the characters and characters involved in the novel story. The results showed the existence of moral values in the novel Chase-chasing Dream Dedi Padiku. Moral values viewed from the side of religion is represented by the figure of Dedi who became an example for the youth of the citizens of Gorontalo, to always invoke the prayer to God Almighty in everyday life. When viewed in terms of attitude has been described by Iyen figures who have forgiven the mistakes of someone who has made a mistake on him. That there are five moral values contained in the novel Chase-chasing Dream (1) seen from the side of the word has been described by the character Dedi who tells the truth in admitting mistakes he has done. (2) The moral value seen from the side of behavior or deeds has been described by Iyen figures who perform acts of sympathy to the suffering of Dedi as a child. (3) The moral value viewed from the side of religion is depicted by the character Dedi who pleads with God, that Iyen be saved. (4) The moral value is seen from the side of attitude depicted by the character of Dedi who live independently, although Dedi comes from poor families. (5) The moral value is seen from the good or bad side described by the character Ranto who lies, for not recognizing the work of his father as a fisherman. The reality is, teenagers in our country have experienced a decline in moral values. Through this research, it is expected that teenagers in Indonesia will be able to recover their lofty moral values. Especially for junior high school students who are worried about their daily life. Seeing the conformity with the criteria of learning materials in junior high, then the novel entitled Chase-chasing Dream Dedi Padiku's work can be used as a material of literary learning in Junior High School.

| Additional Information: | Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) mengetahui nilai-nilai moral yang terdapat dalam novel Mengejar-ngejar Mimpi karya Dedi Padiku; (2) mengetahui bagaimana bentuk penyampaian pesan moral secara langsung atau tidak langsung; (3) mengetahui apakah dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan pemelajaran di SMP. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi. Untuk mengungkapkan nilai-nilai moral di dalam novel Mengejar-ngejar Mimpi karya Dedi Padiku melihat dari tokoh dan penokohan yang terlibat dalam cerita novel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya nilai-nilai moral dalam novel Mengejar-ngejar Mimpi karya Dedi Padiku. Nilai-nilai moral yang dilihat dari sisi agama diwakili oleh tokoh Dedi yang menjadi contoh untuk pemuda warga Gorontalo, agar selalu memohon do’a kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Apabila dilihat dari sisi sikap telah digambarkan oleh tokoh Iyen yang telah memaafkan kesalahan seseorang yang telah melakukan kesalahan pada dirinya. Bahwa terdapat lima nilai-nilai moral yang terkandung dalam novel Mengejar-ngejar Mimpi (1) dilihat dari sisi perkataan telah tergambarkan oleh tokoh Dedi yang berkata jujur dalam mengakui kesalahan yang telah dilakukannya. (2) Nilai moral dilihat dari sisi perilaku atau perbuatan telah tergambarkan oleh tokoh Iyen yang melakukan perbuatan bersimpati kepada penderitaan Dedi semasa kecilnya. (3) Nilai moral dilihat dari sisi agama digambarkan oleh tokoh Dedi yang memohon kepada Tuhan, agar Iyen di selamatkan. (4) Nilai moral dilihat dari sisi sikap digambarkan oleh tokoh Dedi yang hidup mandiri, meskipun Dedi berasal dari keluarga miskin. (5) Nilai moral dilihat dari sisi baik atau buruk yang digambarkan oleh tokoh Ranto yang berbohong, karena tidak mengakui pekerjaan Ayahnya sebagai nelayan. Realitasnya, remaja di negara kita telah mengalami kemerosotan nilai-nilai moral. Melalui penelitian ini diharapkan remaja di Indonesia dapat kembali pulih nilai-nilai moral luhurnya. Terutama untuk siswa SMP yang mengkhawatirkan dalam pergaulan kehidupan sehari-hari. Melihat kesesuaian dengan kriteria bahan pemelajaran di SMP, maka novel yang berjudul Mengejar-ngejar Mimpi karya Dedi Padiku dapat dijadikan bahan pemelajaran sastra di Sekolah Menengah Pertama. | |||||||||
