Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti kepribadian tokoh utama dalam menggambarkan perilaku neurosis kajian psikologi sastra teori Karen Horney dan implikasinya terhadap pembelajaran sastra sebagai alterenatif bahan ajar di SMA. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik baca catat dan studi pustaka. Intstrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dengan bantuan tabel kerja. Adapun kriteria analisis dalam tabel tersebut terbagi menjadi tiga kategori yaitu neurosis agresif, neurosis penurut dan, neurosis penyendiri. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa tokoh Tara Johandi mengalami banyak kecendrungan neurosis, salah satu perilaku yang paling mendominasi adalah neurosis agresif, diikuti dengan neurosis penurut dan neurosis penyendiri. Hal itu terjadi karena kecendrungan neurosis berasal dan berkembang dari mekanisme perlindungan diri Tara seperti kebutuhan akan kasih sayang dan pengakuan, ambisi, ataupun kebutuhan akan rasa aman. Kecendrungan tersebut menjadi abnormal atau neurosis, jika seseorang mengejar kepuasan mereka secara intensif dan kompulsif sebagai satu-satunya cara untuk mengatasi kecemasan dasar. Kecemasan dasar tersebut berupa perasaan yang terus menguat dan penyeluruh tentang kesepian dan tidak berdaya dalam dunia yang memusuhi. Novel Katarsis yang mengandung unsur konflik batin berupa perilaku neurosis dapat digunakan sebagai media alternatif bahan ajar sastra di SMA. Hal tersebut dimaksudkan agar siswa dapat memahami dan menginterpretasi fenomena yang terjadi pada manusia dalam menangani konflik antar dirinya sendiri, serta sebagai bentuk apresiasi terhadap sebuah karya sastra dan meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa siswa salah satunya yaitu membaca.

| Additional Information: | This study aims to examine the personality of the main character, in describing the neurotic behavior of the theory of literary psychology in Karen Horney's theory and its implications for literary learning as an alternative teaching material in high school. The method in this study uses descriptive qualitative method with a literary psychology approach. The data collection technique used in this study is the technique of reading notes and literature. The instruments in this study are the researchers themselves with the help of work tables. The analysis criteria in the table are divided into three categories: aggressive neurosis, submissive neurosis and, lonely neurosis. The results of this study can be concluded that Tara Johandi's character experiences many neurotic tendencies, one of the most dominating behaviors is aggressive neurosis, followed by obedient neuroses and lonely neuroses. This happens because the tendency for neurosis to originate and develop from Tara's self-protection mechanism such as the need for affection and recognition, ambition, or the need for security. These tendencies become abnormal or neurosis, if someone pursues their satisfaction intensively and compulsively as the only way to overcome basic anxiety. These basic anxieties are feelings that continue to strengthen and tell about loneliness and helplessness in a hostile world. Catharsis novels which contain elements of inner conflict in the form of neurotic behavior can be used as alternative media for literary teaching materials in high school. This is so that students can understand and interpret phenomena that occur in humans in dealing with conflicts between themselves, and as a form of appreciation for a literary work and improve students' language skills, one of which is reading. | |||||||||
