Abstract

The objectives of this research were used to find out whether the learning of Abductive-Deductive Strategy influences positively toward the proof ability and mathematical disposition for the Senior High School students. This research used quasi-experimental method through research design of The Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population of this research involved all of the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Krakatau Steel Cilegon in the second semester, the year of 2017/2018. The sample was conducted through purposive sampling technique to choose two classes by applying the experimental class which obtained the treatment of Abductive-Deductive learning strategy and control class which obtained the treatment of conventional learning. The instruments of this research used the mathematical proof ability test and the student’s mathematichal dispositionscale non-test. Based on the hypothesis, it can be concluded that (1) The learning through Abductive-Deductive strategy gave the posotive influence toward the ability of Senior High School student’s mathematical proof, and (2) The learning through Abductive-Deductive strategy gave the positive influence toward the Senior High School student’s mathematical disposition.

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah pembelajaran dengan Strategi Abduktif-Deduktif berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pembuktian dan disposisi matematis siswa SMA. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian The Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 2 Krakatau Steel Cilegon semester genap tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling untuk memilih dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen mendapat perlakuan pembelajaran dengan strategi Abduktif-Deduktif dan kelas kontrol mendapat perlakuan pembelajaran biasa. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes kemampuan pembuktian matematis dan non-tes skala disposisi matematis siswa. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis didapat kesimpulan: (1) Pembelajaran dengan strategi Abduktif-Deduktif memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pembuktian matematis siswa SMA, dan (2) Pembelajaran dengan strategi Abduktif-Deduktif memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap disposisi matematis siswa SMA.
