Abstract

Education in the 21st century continues to grow rapidly demands the existence of competition between people so that required a skill that must be trained and developed in the process of learning that is the process of science skills. One of the efforts to improve the science process skills of students is applied Problem Based Learning model, so that this study aims to find out whether there is influence of Problem Based Learning Model to Skills Process Science learners on the concept of acid base. This research was conducted in February 2018 in SMA Negeri 5 Serang City. The method used is quasi experiment, with static group pretest-posttest design. Research sample for experiment class and control class were 30 students. Data analysis using t-test, the data of the calculation of the difference of the average of the two classes obtained tcount of -5.775, while the ttable at a significant level of 0.05 for 2,001 so that -ttable> tcount that -2,001 > -5,775 and the significance value of p-value smaller than the significant level 0, 05 which is 0.000 <0,05 indicating that alternative hypothesis (Hi) is accepted, meaning that there is influence of Problem Based Learning model to Skill of Science Process learners on concept of acid base.

Additional Information: Pendidikan pada abad 21 terus berkembang pesat menuntut adanya persaingan antarmanusia sehingga dibutuhkan suatu keterampilan yang harus dilatih dan dikembangkan dalam proses pembelajaran yaitu keterampilan proses sains. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik yaitu dengan diterapkan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap Keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS) peserta didik pada konsep asam basa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2018 di SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen, dengan desain penelitian the static group pretest-posttest design. Sampel penelitian untuk kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol masing-masing berjumlah 30 peserta didik. Analisis data menggunakan uji-t, data hasil perhitungan perbedaan rata-rata kedua kelas diperoleh thitung sebesar -5,775, sedangkan ttabel pada taraf signifikan 0,05 sebesar 2,001 sehingga -ttabel > thitung yaitu -2,001 > -5,775 dan nilai signfikan p-value lebih kecil dari taraf signifikan 0,05 yaitu 0,000 < 0,05 yang menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Hi) diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap keterampilan Proses Sains (KPS) peserta didik pada konsep asam basa.
