Abstract
This research was conducted at SMA N 1 Kota Serang in the academic year 2017/2018 which aimed to see the effect of problem based learning to student’s mathematical critical thinking ability and mathematical habits of mind. The method used in this research is method of combination (mixed method) with incorporation of QUANTITATIVE-qualitative and concurrent embedded design. The study involved two classes of experimental class and control class. The population of this research is all students in grade XI SMA N 1 Kota Serang. Sample were class XI MIPA 8 an experimental class and XI MIPA 6 an control class. The instrument used in this study a mathematical critical thinking ability tes instrument, non-tes instruments in the form of scale of mathematical habits of mind, observation sheets, interview guides, documentation as well as the researchers itself. The result of the study concludes that the ultimate achievement and increase the mathematical critical thinking ability experimental class is better than the control class, the ultimate achievement and increase mathematical habits of mind experimental class is not better than the control class. It shows that there is a effect of problem based learning on student’s mathematical critical thinking ability and ther is no effect of problem based learning on student’s mathematical habits of mind.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA N 1 Kota Serang tahun ajaran 2017/2018 yang bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan mathematical habits of mind siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kombinasi (mixed method) dengan model penggabungan KUAN-kual dan desain concurrent embedded design. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelas yang terdiri dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA N 1 Kota Serang. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas XI MIPA 8 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI MIPA 6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa instrument tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis, instrument non tes berupa skala mathematical habits of mind, lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, dokumentasi serta peneliti itu sendiri. Hasil penelitian memberikan kesimpulan bahwa pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari kelas kontrol, pencapaian dan peningkatan mathematical habits of mind siswa kelas eksperimen tidak lebih baik dari kelas kontrol. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan tidak terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap mathematical habits of mind siswa. | |||||||||
