Abstract

This research purposed to determine the influence of problem based learning model towards students’ science literacy at tenth grade in SMA Negeri 3 Cilegon on the biodiversity concept. The method used quasy experiment with randomized control group pretest-postest design. This research was held at tenth grade in SMA Negeri 3 Cilegon on academic year 2017/2018. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with X MIPA 3 as experiment class and X MIPA 2 as control class. The students’ science literacy was measured by competency and attitude aspects. The result of hypothesis test analysis by using t test on significant level α = 0.05, significance value result was 0,000 < 0,05 it means Ho was rejected for science literacy on competency aspects and the significant value of attitude aspects was 0,004 < 0,05 it means, Ho was rejected, therefore it can be concluded that there was influence of problem based learning model towards students’ science literacy at tenth grade in SMA Negeri 3 Cilegon on the biodiversity concept.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap literasi sains siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 3 Cilegon pada konsep keanekaragaman hayati. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian randomized control group pretest-postest. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 3 Cilegon Kelas X tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu simple random sampling dengan kelas X MIPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X MIPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Literasi sains yang diukur yaitu aspek kompetensi dan aspek sikap. Hasil analisis uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t pada taraf signifikansi ɑ = 0,05 diperoleh nilai signifikansi (0,000) < 0,05, maka Ho ditolak untuk literasi sains pada aspek kompetensi dan sikap diperoleh nilai signifikansi (0,004) < 0,05, maka Ho ditolak, sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap literasi sains siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 3 Cilegon pada konsep keanekaragaman hayati.
