Abstract
ANDRIANTO GUNAWAN. 082077. TINGKAT PEMAHAMAN MAHASISWA JURNALISTIK TENTANG PENULISAN BERITA DI MEDIA CETAK. Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi. Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik. Univesitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Banten. 2014 Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa jurnalistik tentang penulisan berita di media cetak. Perumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa jurnalistik tentang penulisan berita. Tujuan penelitian yakni ingin menjelaskan tingkat pemahaman tentang jenis berita, unsur berita, kontruksi berita dan bahasa jurnalistik. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Model kemungkinan elaborasi yang termasuk dalam perubahan sikap yang terjadi dalam diri seseorang ini dikembangkan oleh ahli psiokologi sosial Richard Petty dan John Cacioppo telah menjadi teori persuasi paling populer dewasa ini. Terdapat dua cara yang dikenal dengan istilah rute sentral (central route) merupakan elaborasi atau pemikiran kritis dan rute periferal (peripheral route) merupakan kecendurungan kognitif dimana penerimaan/penolakan suatu pesan lebih ditekankan pada kredibilitas pengirim informasi, reaksi lingkungan, atau terpengaruh oleh faktor-faktor lain di luar argumentasi (atribusi eksternal). Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif, yaitu penelitian yang hanya menggambarkan situasi, peristiwa atau fenomena yang terjadi. Penelitian ini menggunakan total sampling dengan metode survey, yaitu terhadap 52 mahasiswa jurnalistik yang aktif kuliah pada semester ganjil tahun 2013-2014. Proses pengumpulan datanya menggunakan kuesioner (angket) dan dokumentasi. Untuk pengolahan data, peneliti menggunakan aplikasi statistik SPSS dengan submenu frequencies dan descriptives, disertai grafiknya. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa akan jenis berita sangat tinggi (81,1%) pada tingkat pemahaman akan unsur berita sangat tinggi (81,7%), kemudian tinggi (71%) pada tingkat pemahaman akan konstruksi berita, dan tinggi (69,2%) pada tingkat pemahaman akan bahasa jurnalistik. This research using Elaboration Likehood Model theory that includes the attitude change that occurs in a person, It was developed by an expert social psiokologi Richard Petty and John Cacioppo has become the most popular theories now persuasion. There are two ways known as the central route is an elaboration or critical thinking and peripheral route are cognitive tendency, which acceptance / rejection of a message with more emphasis on the credibility of the sender information, the reaction environment, or be affected by other factors beyond the arguments (external attribution) This is descriptive research, which only describe the situation, events or phenomena that occur. This research uses total sampling by means of survey method towards 52 student’s journalistic active a lecture at odd semester 2013- 2014. The process of data collection use questionnaire and documentation. For data processing, researchers use SPSS statiscal application with frequencies and descriptive submenu, also by a graph. The result of this research is that the understanding of the student will be very high levels ( 81,1 % ) to be an understanding of the very high ( 81,7 % ) so high (71 % ) on the level of understanding will be the news construction , and high (69,2 % ) on the level of understanding will be the journalistic language.
