Abstract
The objectives of this research were to know the quality of the students’ translation in narrative text and to find out the difficulties of translating narrative text by sixth semester students’ of English Education Department UNTIRTA. This research was used qualitative research. The researcher took about 30 students from English Education Department University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa as the subject of this research. To obtain the data, the researcher used translation test to know the quality of the students’ translation and quistionnaire to find out the difficulties of translating narrative text as the instrument. The translation quality was classified into five level; Inaccurate, Fair, Excellent, Very Excellent and Almost Perfect. The result of this research shows that students’ translation quality in Narrative Text is in three level of score range; Very excellent is 17%, excellent is 33%, and fair is 50%. From the result above can be draw conclusion that the most of the translation by the student in Translation Text Analysis Class 6 A students of English Education Department, UNTIRTA have a Fair in translating Narrative Text.
