Abstract
Many uses of steel reinforcement can allow the reduction of raw materials which causes the price to be more expensive. Therefore, in this study, we examined other alternatives to replace steel reinforcement, namely using bamboo twisted. This study was directed to determine the effect of the use of twisted bamboo as a substitute for steel reinforcement on concrete beams against their flexural strength and also to know the best type of bamboo between betung bamboo and wulung. The specimens used are concrete blocks that are reinforced or twisted bamboo, then given a flexible load. The results of flexural strength concrete beam using betung twisted bamboo of 75,10% and using a winding bamboo wulung of 83,24% by using steel reinforcement. This study indicate the flexural strength of concrete beams using twisted is not too far in value compared to concrete beam using bamboo steel reinforcement. Based on the research conducted, the average compressive strength was 43,406 MPa, parallel tensile strength of 304,66 MPa fiber, MOE 31273,53 MPa, MOR 88,02 MPa for betung bamboo and for wulung bamboo the average compressive strength was 42,727 MPa. , the tensile strength of fibers is 351.59 MPa, MOE 95318.42 MPa, MOR 160.58 MPa. Mechanical testing data and flexural strength values show that wulung bamboo is better than betung bamboo
