Abstract

This study was motivated by the less-than-optimal management of the laboratory, as indicated by irregular material procurement, uncontrolled use of practical materials, and inadequate equipment maintenance. The aim of this study was to analyse the conformity of the laboratory management system of the Mechanical Engineering Vocational Education Laboratory, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, with the Integrated Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures across the aspects of planning, organising, implementation, and evaluation and supervision. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, with data collected through questionnaires administered to laboratory staff and students. The findings reveal that in the planning aspect, laboratory staff responses were predominantly in the high category (64%), while students were mainly in the moderate category (38%). In the organising aspect, laboratory staff were largely in the very high category (43%), whereas students were in the high category (62%). In terms of implementation, laboratory staff responses were dominated by the very high category (57%), while students were mostly in the moderate category (38%). Regarding evaluation and supervision, laboratory staff were primarily in the moderate category (50%), whereas student responses varied, with the highest proportion in the very high category (31%). Overall, the laboratory management system has been implemented reasonably well and partially complies with the standard operating procedures; however, improvements are still required, particularly in evaluation and supervision, to ensure more effective and consistent implementation.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurang optimalnya pengelolaan laboratorium yang ditunjukkan oleh pengadaan bahan yang tidak teratur, penggunaan bahan praktikum yang belum terkendali, serta pemeliharaan peralatan yang kurang memadai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesesuaian sistem manajemen Laboratorium Pendidikan Vokasional Teknik Mesin FKIP Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa dengan Standar Operasional Prosedur Laboratorium Terpadu pada aspek perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, serta evaluasi dan pengawasan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner kepada pengurus laboratorium dan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada aspek perencanaan, pengurus laboratorium didominasi kategori tinggi sebesar 64%, sedangkan mahasiswa didominasi kategori sedang sebesar 38%. Pada aspek pengorganisasian, pengurus laboratorium berada pada kategori sangat tinggi sebesar 43% dan mahasiswa pada kategori tinggi sebesar 62%. Pada aspek pelaksanaan, pengurus laboratorium didominasi kategori sangat tinggi sebesar 57%, sementara mahasiswa berada pada kategori sedang sebesar 38%. Adapun pada aspek evaluasi dan pengawasan, pengurus laboratorium berada pada kategori sedang sebesar 50%, sedangkan mahasiswa menunjukkan distribusi bervariasi dengan kategori sangat tinggi sebesar 31%. Secara keseluruhan, sistem manajemen laboratorium telah berjalan cukup baik dan memenuhi sebagian ketentuan SOP, namun belum optimal terutama pada aspek evaluasi dan pengawasan sehingga masih diperlukan penguatan implementasi dan konsistensi pelaksanaan.
