Abstract
Background: Cervical cancer is the leading cause of death among women worldwide and ranks second after breast cancer in Indonesia. Early detection through Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) is important to reduce morbidity and mortality, yet the coverage of the examination remains low. Low participation of Women of Reproductive Age (WRA) is influenced by factors such as knowledge, motivation, and spousal support. A preliminary study at Singandaru Health Center showed that about 40% of WRA had undergone VIA screening. Objective: To determine the relationship between the motivation level of women of childbearing age (WUS) and their participation in IVA examinations. Method: Quantitative research with an analytical observational design and a cross-sectional approach.The sample consisted of 109 respondents selected using proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with the Chi-Square test. Results: A total of 57 respondents had moderate motivation,and 52 respondents had high motivation. Participation in the IVA examination showed that 57 respondents participated while 52 respondents did not participate. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the level of motivation and participation in IVA screening (p = 0.017). Deteksi dini melalui pemeriksaan Inspeksi Visual Asam Asetat (IVA) penting untuk menurunkan angka kesakitan dan kematian, namun cakupan pemeriksaan masih rendah. Rendahnya partisipasi Wanita Usia Subur (WUS) dipengaruhi oleh faktor pengetahuan, motivasi, dan dukungan suami. Studi pendahuluan di Puskesmas Singandaru menunjukkan sekitar 40% WUS telah melakukan pemeriksaan IVA. Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat motivasi WUS dengan keikutsertaan pemeriksaan IVA. Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain observasional analitik dan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel berjumlah 109 responden yang diambil menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan uji Chi-Square. Hasil: Sebanyak 57 responden memiliki motivasi sedang dan 52 responden memiliki motivasi tinggi. Keikutsertaan pemeriksaan IVA menunjukkan 57 responden ikut serta dan 52 responden tidak ikut. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara tingkat motivasi dengan keikutsertaan pemeriksaan IVA (p = 0,017). Motivasi merupakan faktor penting dalam meningkatkan deteksi dini kanker serviks.
