Abstract
Background: The breastfeeding period among primiparous mothers is a stage that is highly prone to stress due to physical and psychological changes, the adjustment to new roles, and limited experience. Husband’s support plays an important role in reducing stress and helping mothers adapt during the breastfeeding period. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between husband’s support and stress levels among primiparous breastfeeding mothers in the working area of UPTD Walantaka Community Health Center Serang city. Methods: This research employed a quantitative study design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a total of 80 respondents. Data were collected using the Partner Breastfeeding Influence Scale (PBIS) and the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test. Result: The study used the Chi-Square test and found no significant association between husband’s support and stress levels among primiparous breastfeeding mother, with a p-value 0.822 (p-value > 0.05). Conclusion: Husband’s support did not have a significant relationship with stress levels among primiparous breastfeeding mother in the working area of UPTD Walantaka Community Health Center Serang City. | Additional Information: | Latar belakang: Periode menyusui pada ibu primipara merupakan masa yang berpotensi sering terjadinya stres akibat adanya perubahan fisik, psikologis, dan perubahan peran baru serta kurangnya pengalaman. Dukungan suami sangat berperan penting dalam upaya mengurangi stres serta dapat membantu adaptasi ibu selama masa menyusui. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan suami terhadap tingkat stres pada ibu menyusui primipara di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Walantaka kota Serang. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu purposive sampling dengan total 80 sampel. Pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner The Partner Breasfeeding Influence Scale (PBIS) dan Depression, Anxiety, and Stress-21 (DASS-21). Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik Chi-Square. Hasil: Penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan uji Chi-Square, tidak ada hubungan dukungan suami terhadap tingkat stres pada ibu menyusui primipara. Didapatkan p-value 0,822 (p-value > 0,05). Kesimpulan: Dukungan suami tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap tingkat stres pada ibu menyusui primipara di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Walantaka kota Serang.
