Abstract
School rules were a set of regulations and systems that must be obeyed to create a safe, orderly, and controlled environment, thereby preventing negative behavior. The implementation of school rules needed to be supported by student discipline, as discipline reflected students’ compliance with applicable regulations. The effectiveness of school rules depended on students’ awareness of discipline; conversely, violations required sanctions as a form of guidance. This study aimed to describe the implementation of school rules in improving student discipline at SMAN 2 Kota Serang. The research method used was qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Theresults showed that the enforcement of school rules at SMAN 2 Kota Serang played an important role in shaping student discipline, particularly in dress code compliance, punctuality, and classroom behavior. The point-based violation system and tiered sanctions encourage students’ awareness of discipline, while teachers, parents, and the student council (OSIS) contributed through exemplary behavior, guidance, and supervision. Overall, the implementation of school rules not only promoted short-term compliance but also instilled long-term discipline values that had the potential to become part of the school culture.

| Additional Information: | Tata tertib sekolah merupakan seperangkat aturan dan sistem yang wajib dipatuhi untuk menciptakan kondisi yang aman, tertib, dan terkendali sehingga dapat mencegah munculnya perilaku negatif. Pelaksanaan tata tertib perlu didukung dengan sikap disiplin karena kedisiplinan mencerminkan kepatuhan siswa terhadap aturan yang berlaku. Implementasi tata tertib akan berjalan efektif apabila siswa memiliki kesadaran disiplin, sebaliknya pelanggaran terhadap tata tertib mengharuskan adanya sanksi sebagai upaya pembinaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan implementasi tata tertib sekolah dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa di SMAN 2 Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan tata tertib sekolah di SMAN 2 Kota Serang memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk kedisiplinansiswa, baik dalam hal kerapian berpakaian, ketepatan waktu, maupun sikap dalam proses pembelajaran. Sistem poin pelanggaran dan sanksi berjenjang mampu menumbuhkan kesadaran disiplin siswa, sementara guru, orang tua, dan organisasi siswa (OSIS) turut berperan dalam memberikan teladan, pembinaan, dan pengawasan. Secara keseluruhan, implementasi tata tertib di sekolah ini tidak hanya mendorong kepatuhan jangka pendek, tetapi juga menanamkan nilai disiplin jangka panjang yang berpotensi menjadi budaya sekolah. | |||||||||
