Abstract

Background: Work motivation is an important factor that influences nurses’ enthusiasm, responsibility, and service quality. Low work motivation can decrease performance and increase the risk of burnout, which is a condition of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged work stress. Research Purpose: To analyze the relationship between work motivation and burnout among nurses in the inpatient wards of Banten General Hospital (RSUD Banten). Method: This study used a quantitative method with a correlational design and a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of all nurses working in the inpatient wards of RSUD Banten, totaling 162 nurses. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error, resulting in 115 respondents plus an additional 10%, making a total of 127 respondents. The research instruments were the modified work motivation questionnaire and the modified burnout questionnaire based on the Maslach-Trisni Burnout Inventory (M-TBI) version, both of which had been tested for validity and reability. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test to determine the relationship between work motivation and burnout among nurses in the inpatient wards of RSUD Banten. Results: Most respondents had high work motivation (78%) and experienced moderate burnout (51.2%). The Chi-Square test showed a significant relationship between work motivation and burnout (p = 0.000). Conclusion: Work motivation has been proven to play a direct role in reducing nurses’ burnout levels. Additional Information: Latar belakang: Motivasi kerja merupakan faktor penting yang memengaruhi semangat, tanggung jawab, dan kualitas pelayanan perawat. Rendahnya motivasi kerja dapat menurunkan kinerja dan meningkatkan risiko burnout, yaitu kondisi kelelahan fisik, emosional, dan mental akibat tekanan kerja yang berkepanjangan. Tujuan: Menganalisis hubungan antara motivasi kerja dengan burnout pada perawat di ruang rawat inap Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) Banten. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional dan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh perawat di ruang rawat inap RSUD Banten sebanyak 162 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan tingkat kesalahan 5%, sehingga diperoleh 115 responden dan ditambah 10% menjadi 127 responden. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner motivasi kerja versi modifikasi dan kuesioner burnout berdasarkan Maslach-Trisni Burnout Inventory (M-TBI) versi modifikasi yang telah diuji validitas serta reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-Square untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi kerja dengan burnout pada perawat di ruang rawat inap RSUD Banten. Hasil: Sebagian besar responden memiliki motivasi kerja tinggi (78%) dan mengalami burnout kategori sedang (51,2%). Uji Chi Square menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi kerja dengan burnout (p=0,000). Simpulan: Motivasi Kerja terbukti berperan langsung dalam menurunkan tingkat burnout perawat. Semakin tinggi motivasi kerja yang dimiliki perawat maka semakin rendah tingkat burnout yang dialami.
