Abstract

Background: Conflict within hospital work environments can disrupt teamwork, increase stress levels, and negatively affect nurses’ job satisfaction. Effective conflict management strategies are necessary to maintain a harmonious workplace and support optimal service quality. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between conflict management strategies and job satisfaction among nurses in the inpatient ward of Banten Provincial General Hospital in 2025. Methods: A quantitative descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach was used. The study involved 127 nurses selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi Square test. Results: Findings indicate that most nurses applied strong conflict management strategies, with 116 respondents (91.3%) categorized as strong and 11 respondents (8.7%) categorized as weak. Job satisfaction levels also showed similar distribution, with 116 nurses (91.3%) reporting satisfaction and 11 nurses (8.7%) reporting dissatisfaction. Statistical analysis using the Chi Square test produced a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between conflict management strategies and job satisfaction. Conclusion: Effective conflict management strategies contribute positively to nurses’ job satisfaction. Hospitals are encouraged to enhance conflict management training to foster a supportive work atmosphere and improve the overall quality of nursing services. Penerapan strategi manajemen konflik yang tepat diperlukan untuk menjaga efektivitas kerja tim dan mutu pelayanan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara strategi manajemen konflik dengan kepuasan kerja perawat pelaksana di ruang rawat inap Rumah Sakit Umum Provinsi Banten tahun 2025. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel berjumlah 127 perawat yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Instrumen memakai kuesioner skala Likert dan analisis data menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil: Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar perawat menerapkan strategi manajemen konflik kategori kuat, yaitu sebanyak 116 responden (91,3%), sedangkan 11 responden (8,7%) berada pada kategori lemah. Tingkat kepuasan kerja juga menunjukkan hasil serupa, di mana 116 perawat (91,3%) merasa puas terhadap pekerjaannya dan 11 perawat (8,7%) menyatakan tidak puas. Hasil uji statistik Chi Square menghasilkan p-value 0,001 yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara strategi manajemen konflik dan kepuasan kerja perawat pelaksana. Kesimpulan: Strategi manajemen konflik yang baik berkontribusi terhadap meningkatnya kepuasan kerja perawat. Rumah sakit perlu memperkuat pelatihan manajemen konflik agar tercipta lingkungan kerja yang harmonis dan mendukung peningkatan kualitas pelayanan.
