Abstract

The problem of organic mango leaf waste that has not been managed properly, therefore it is necessary to implement environmentally friendly waste management through the composting process. This study aims to compare the biopore and compost bag composting methods on the quality of mango leaf waste compost. This study is an experimental study using a quantitative descriptive research design. The quality of compost fertilizer observed and measured in this study includes the physical structure of the compost (temperature, pH, humidity, color, texture, and aroma) and the chemical structure of the compost (C-Organik, N-Total, phosphorus, potassium, and C/N ratio). The result of this study indicate thet the quality of mango leaf waste compost produced through the biopore method shows better results than the compost bag method. The activity of utilizing mango leaf waste as a basic material for making compost to support environmental conservation efforts, as well as the application of the biopore hole composting method and the use of compost bags, can be used as content for the P5 activity module on the theme of a sustainable lifestyle in phases E and F.

Additional Information: Permasalahan penumpukan sampah organik daun mangga yang belum dikelola dengan baik, oleh karena itu perlunya dilakukan penerapan pengelolaan sampah ramah lingkungan melalui proses pengomposan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan metode pengomposan biopori dan compost bag pada kualitas pupuk kompos sampah daun mangga. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Kualitas pupuk kompos yang diamati dan diukur pada penelitian ini, meliputi struktur fisik kompos (suhu, pH, kelembapan, warna, tekstur, dan aroma) dan struktur kimia kompos (C-Organik, N-Total, Fosfor, Kalium, dan Rasio C/N). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan kualitas pupuk kompos sampah daun mangga yang dihasilkan melalui metode biopori menunjukan hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan metode compost bag. Kegiatan pemanfaatan sampah daun mangga sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan pupuk kompos untuk mendukung upaya pelestarian lingkungan, serta penerapan metode pengomposan lubang biopori dan penggunaan compost bag, dapat dijadikan sebagai konten modul kegiatan P5 tema gaya hidup berkelanjutan pada fase E dan F.
