Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of group guidance using the mind mapping technique on improving students’ learning creativity at the junior high school level. Learning creativity is an essential ability that supports students in understanding learning materials, developing ideas, and solving problems creatively. However, many students still demonstrate low levels of learning creativity due to the dominance of conventional teaching methods. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one- group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects were eighth-grade students of SMPN 6 Malingping in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected using a learning creativity scale and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results indicated an improvement in students’ learning creativity after the implementation of group guidance with the mind mapping technique. The statistical analysis showed a significance value of less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Therefore, it can be concluded that group guidance using the mind mapping technique has a significant effect on improving students’ learning creativity. This study is expected to serve as a reference for guidance and counseling teachers in developing innovative guidance services to enhance students’ learning creativity.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik mind mapping terhadap peningkatan kreativitas belajar siswa SMP. Kreativitas belajar merupakan kemampuan penting yang mendukung siswa dalam memahami materi, mengembangkan ide, dan memecahkan masalah secara inovatif. Namun, kenyataannya masih banyak siswa yang menunjukkan kreativitas belajar rendah akibat pembelajaran yang cenderung konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pra-eksperimen dan desain one group pretest–posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 6 Malingping Tahun Ajaran 2025/2026. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan skala kreativitas belajar, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kreativitas belajar siswa setelah diberikan layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik mind mapping. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan nilai signifikansi kurang dari 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik mind mapping berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan kreativitas belajar siswa SMP. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan bagi guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam mengembangkan layanan yang inovatif untuk meningkatkan kreativitas belajar peserta didik.
