Abstract
This study aims to determine the application of the Multi-Representation Discourse (DMR) model on the mathematical communication skills and self-confidence of junior high school students in mathematics learning. This study is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The DMR model is the independent variable, while the students’ mathematical communication skills and self-confidence are the dependent variables. The population in this study was all eighth-grade students at IKPI Labuan Junior High School in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII-C as the experimental class and class VIII-B as the control class. The sampling technique was cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques used mathematical communication ability tests and non-test self-confidence questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used a one-tailed Independent Sample T-test to test the hypothesis. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the following conclusions were obtained: 1) The mathematical communication ability of students who obtained the Multi-Representation Discourse (DMR) model was better than that of students who obtained the expository model. 2) The improvement in mathematical communication skills of students who received the Multi-Representation Discourse (DMR) model was better than that of students who received the expository model. 3) The self-confidence of students who received the multi representation discourse model (DMR) was better than that of students who received the expository model. 4) The improvement in self-confidence of students who received the multi representation discourse model (DMR) was better than that of students who received the expository model.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model Diskursus Multi Representasi (DMR) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self-confidence siswa SMP pada pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment dengan desain pretest posttest nonequivalent control grup design. Model DMR sebagai variabel bebas dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis serta self-confidence siswa sebagai variabel terikat. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP IKPI Labuan tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas VIII-C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan non-tes angket self-confidence. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan uji Independent Sample T-testsatu pihak (kanan) untuk menguji hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: 1) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang memperoleh model Diskursus Multi Representasi (DMR) lebih baik dari pada siswa yang memperoleh model ekspositori. 2) Peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang memperoleh model Diskursus Multi Representasi (DMR) lebih baik dari pada siswa yang memperoleh model ekspositori. 3) Self-confidence siswa yang memperoleh model Diskursus Multi Representasi (DMR) lebih baik dari pada siswa yang memperoleh model ekspositori. 4) Peningkatan self-confidence siswa yang memperoleh model Diskursus Multi Representasi (DMR) lebih baik dari pada siswa yang memperoleh model ekspositori. | |||||||||
