Abstract
This research focuses on the Teachers' Communicative Approach as a Strategy for Preventing Juvenile Delinquency at MAN 2 Serang City. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of teachers' communicative approaches and school strategies for preventing juvenile delinquency at MAN 2 Serang City. This research method used a qualitative case study. Data were obtained through a series of observations, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data was then tested using source and technique triangulation. The analysis technique adopted the Miles & Huberman model, starting with data collection, reduction, and presentation, which culminated in drawing conclusions. The theory used was the communicative approach theory proposed by Jürgen Habermas. The informants for this study were teachers at MAN 2 and students who had and had not committed delinquent acts. Based on field findings, researchers have shown that the sociology teacher's communicative approach as a strategy for preventing juvenile delinquency at MAN 2 Serang City has been operating within rational boundaries, particularly in terms of truth (data-based/point-based) and accuracy (religious norms-based). Through this communicative approach, teachers can identify the factors that cause students to engage in juvenile delinquency and provide advice and counsel to prevent reoffending. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan komunikatif guru serta strategi sekolah untuk pencegahan kenakalan remaja di MAN 2 Kota Serang. Metode penelitian ini mengunakan studi kasus yang bersifat kualitatif. Data-data diperoleh lewat serangkaian kegiatan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data tersebut kemudian diuji menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Adapun teknik analisisnya mengadopsi model Miles & Huberman, dimulai dari pengumpulan, pereduksian, dan penyajian data, yang diakhiri dengan penarikan kesimpulan. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori pendekatan komunikatif yang dicetuskan Jurgen Habermas. Informan penelitian ini yaitu Guru yang mengajar di MAN 2 serta siswa yang melakukan kenakalan dan tidak melakukan kenakalan. Berdasarkan temuan lapangan yang didapatkan peneliti menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan komunikatif guru sosiologi sebagai strategi pencegahan kenakalan remaja di MAN 2 Kota Serang sudah berjalan pada koridor yang rasional, terutama pada aspek Kebenaran (berbasis data/poin) dan Ketepatan (berbasis norma agama). Dengan pendekatan komunikasi guru dapat tau faktor penyebab siswa tersebut melakukan kenakalan remaja, dan dapat memberikan saran serta nasihat supaya siswa tidak melanggat kembali.
