Abstract

Husnul Kotimah, 2026. The Effect of Reframing Technique Group Counseling in Reducing Public Speaking Anxiety (Quasi-Experimental Study on Grade X Students of SMK Nurul Huda Baros). Thesis. Supervised by: Dr. Siti Muhibah, M.Pd (Supervisor I) and Arga Satrio Prabowo, M.Pd (Supervisor II). Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. This study aims to determine the effect of knowing the reframing technique group counseling in reducing public speaking anxiety in grade X students of SMK Nurul Huda Baros academic year 2025/2026. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental pre-test post-test non-equivalent control group design method. The population of this study was 108 grade X students, while the sampling technique used purposive sampling and obtained 14 students who had high scores from the results of the public speaking anxiety questionnaire. The sample was divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group with 7 students each taken from the pre-test results with the highest scores. The research instrument used was a public speaking anxiety questionnaire developed by the researcher, consisting of three aspects, namely physical aspects, mental processes and emotional aspects. The results showed a significant decrease in anxiety levels after being given treatment in the form of reframing technique group counseling services in the experimental group, with an average pre-test score of 103,7 (high category) and an average post-test score of 53.0 (low category). In addition, a hypothesis test was conducted using the Mann-Whitney test analysis, and the significance value of Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) was 0.001 < 0.05, so Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Thus, group counseling with the reframing technique had an effect on reducing public speaking anxiety in grade X students of SMK Nurul Huda Baros academic year 2025/2026. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperiment pre-test post-test non equivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas X sebanyak 108 siswa, adapun teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan mendapatkan 14 siswa yang memiliki skor tinggi dari hasil angket kecemasan berbicara di depan umum. Sampel dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dengan masing-masing sebanyak 7 siswa yang diambil dari hasil pre-test dengan skor tertinggi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa angket kecemasan berbicara di depan umum yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti, terdiri dari tiga aspek yaitu aspek fisik, proses mental dan emosional. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya penurunan tingkat kecemasan yang signifikan setelah diberikan treatment berupa layanan konseling kelompok teknik reframing pada kelompok eksperimen, dengan rata-rata nilai pre-test sebesar 103,7 (kategori tinggi) dan rata-rata nilai post-test sebesar 53,0 (kategori rendah). Selain itu, dilakukan uji hipotesis dengan analisis uji Mann-Whitney, diketahui nilai signifikansi Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,001 < 0,05 maka Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, konseling kelompok teknik reframing berpengaruh dalam mengurangi kecemasan berbicara di depan umum pada siswa kelas X SMK Nurul Huda Baros tahun ajaran 2025/2026.
