Abstract
ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the issue of intellectual limitations in children with intellectual disabilities (or mentally retarded children), particularly those in the moderate category. Although these children possess potential for development, they frequently encounter learning difficulties. One such difficulty identified through field observation is the low ability of moderate intellectual disability students in the VII grade of special junior high school (SMPKh) to recognize secondary colors (mixed colors), with the current teaching media used by the teacher being considered ineffective. The objective of this research is to determine the effect of using the Stomple Color Board game on enhancing the ability to recognize secondary colors (green, orange, and purple) in children with moderate intellectual disabilities at SKh Negeri 02 Serang City. The research method employed is an experiment with an A-B-A (Baseline-Intervention-Baseline) design. The research subject is one student with moderate intellectual disability from the VII grade. Data collection techniques involved direct observation of color recognition ability before, during, and after the intervention. The results of the study indicate an increase in the ability to recognize secondary colors after the intervention using the Stomple Color Board game. The mean level value in the intervention phase increased to 76.75% and 80.75%, compared to the initial baseline phase. After the intervention was stopped, the child's ability continued to show positive results. Thus, the Stomple Color Board game is proven effective in enhancing the ability to recognize secondary colors in children with moderate intellectual disabilities. Keywords: Children with intellectual disabilities, educational game, secondary color recognition ability, stomple Color Board.
