Abstract

Sri Nanda Utami, 2026. The Effectiveness of Experiential Learning Methods Through Group Guidance to Improve Students’ Career Understanding. Thesis. Supervised by : Alfiandy Warih Handoyo, M.Pd (Supervisor 1), and Bangun Yoga Wibowo, M.Pd (Supervisor 2). Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of experiential learning methods through group guidance in improving students' career understanding. This study was conducted with a quantitative approach using experimental research. The research design used was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design model. The results of this study showed an increase in students' career understanding. This is based on the results of the pre-test and post-test which showed that before the treatment, students' pre-test scores were in the low category, while after the treatment, students' post-test scores were in the high category. In addition, the N-Gain percentage value in the experimental group was 76.8976% which was in the effective category, while in the control group with the conventional method, the N-Gain percentage value was 60.6766% which was in the quite effective category with post-test values in the medium and high categories. Based on hypothesis testing conducted using the Mann-Whitney test, the asymp.sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.024 ˂ 0.05, it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. These results indicate that experiential learning methods through group guidance are effective in improving career understanding in grade VIII students. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode experiential learning melalui bimbingan kelompok dalam meningkatkan pemahaman karir siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan penelitian eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment design dengan model nonequivalent control group design. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan pemahaman karir pada siswa. Hal ini didasarkan pada hasil pre-test dan post-test yang menunjukkan bahwa sebelum treatment dilakukan skor pre-test siswa berada pada kategori rendah, sedangkan setelah treatment dilakukan skor post-test siswa berada pada kategori tinggi. Selain itu, nilai persentase N-Gain pada kelompok eksperimen sebesar 76.8976% yang berada pada kategori efektif, sementara pada kelompok kontrol dengan metode konvensional memperoleh nilai persentase N-Gain sebesar 60.6766% yang berada pada kategori cukup efektif dengan nilai post-test berada pada kategori sedang dan tinggi. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis yang dilakukan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney, diketahui nilai asymp.sig. (2-tailed) yaitu 0.024 ˂ 0.05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis diterima. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa metode experiential learning melalui bimbingan kelompok dinyatakan efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman karir pada siswa kelas VIII.
