Abstract
Employee well-being is an essential aspect of creating a safe, healthy, and productive work environment, making the fulfillment of basic needs such as adequate fluid intake highly important. Office workers generally exhibit low physical activity levels and sedentary work patterns, increasing the risk of insufficient fluid consumption, which can lead to serious consequences. A reduction of up to 10% of total body water may impair concentration and compromise workplace safety. Nutritional status also contributes to work performance, as employees with excess body weight tend to have lower speed and agility. To address these issues, many educational institutions have begun implementing wellness programs to promote healthier workplace habits. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test post-test model without a control group, involving 46 workers at the Rectorate of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The program consisted of four main activities: a nutrition seminar (health talk), provision of a meal plan, promotion of physical activity, and a wellness challenge. The results showed that the nutritional status and physical activity levels of the respondents did not change in category from month 1 to month 3. Overall, respondents’ drinking habits improved, as indicated by increased water consumption and reduced intake of sugar-sweetened beverages. In addition, the wellness program contributed significantly to changes in drinking habits and hydration status, particularly in the consumption of non-packaged milk, non-packaged tea, packaged milk, and soft drinks across several observation periods (p < 0.05).
