Abstract
This study aims to analyze the level of work readiness among Grade XII students of the Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR) Program at SMKN 1 Malingping. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method with data collected through questionnaires and essays. The study focuses on assessing how well students are prepared to enter the workforce. Based on data obtained from the Curriculum Division, the 2023 employment absorption rate for TKR graduates indicated that 49% of students were employed, while 51% remained untracked. This finding suggests that students’ work readiness still requires improvement to align with the objectives of vocational education. The questionnaire results revealed that the students’ overall level of work readiness was categorized as high, consisting of 3 students in the very high category, 23 in high, 18 in moderate, 8 in low, and 6 in very low categories. Meanwhile, the essay results indicated that adaptability in the work environment was the most influential factor contributing to students’ readiness, primarily due to the internship programs conducted by the school. However, psychological maturity was identified as a relatively weaker factor, as most students were still in the process of developing decision-making skills. Overall, the findings show that Grade XII TKR students at SMKN 1 Malingping possess a high level of work readiness, which can be further enhanced through the improvement of technical, mental, and interpersonal skills. | Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kesiapan kerja siswa kelas XII Program Keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR) di SMKN 1 Malingping. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket dan esai. Penelitian difokuskan pada sejauh mana kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi dunia kerja. Berdasarkan data dari bidang Waka Kurikulum, tingkat keterserapan kerja lulusan TKR tahun 2023 menunjukkan bahwa hanya 49% siswa yang telah bekerja, sedangkan 51% belum terlacak. Kondisi ini menunjukkan bahwa kesiapan kerja masih perlu ditingkatkan agar sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan kejuruan. Hasil penyebaran angket menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesiapan kerja siswa berada pada kategori tinggi, dengan rincian: sangat tinggi (3 siswa), tinggi (23 siswa), sedang (18 siswa), rendah (8 siswa), dan sangat rendah (6 siswa). Sementara itu, hasil esai mengindikasikan bahwa kemampuan adaptasi di lingkungan kerja menjadi faktor dominan yang memengaruhi kesiapan kerja, terutama karena adanya program magang di sekolah. Namun, kematangan psikologis masih menjadi faktor yang relatif rendah akibat usia siswa yang belum sepenuhnya matang dalam pengambilan keputusan. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas XII TKR SMKN 1 Malingping memiliki kesiapan kerja dengan nilai tinggi dan perlu terus ditingkatkan melalui penguatan aspek keterampilan teknis, mental, dan interpersonal.
