Abstract

Students’ Perception of Project Based Learning to Improving Vocabulary at 4th Grade SDN Baketor Faradila Sarahwati 2223210090 Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa Abstract This study aims to find out how project-based learning can be used to students in improving their English vocabulary and to find out more about students' perceptions of Project Based Learning. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The participants of this research are 34 students in the 4th grade of SDN Baketor for the 2024/2025 school year. Data in this study were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and class observations. The results of interviews with teachers showed that the low use of English vocabulary by students was influenced by a lack of motivation to learn, differences in learning styles, and a less interesting learning process. The findings of the study show that the implementation of pjbl has a positive impact on improving students' vocabulary. The analysis of the questionnaire showed that all aspects of collaboration, discipline, authenticity and engagement received a high average score, which means that it shows a very positive perception. Student interviews revealed that learning through pjbl makes lessons more enjoyable and helps them remember vocabulary more easily. This study concludes that pjbl is effective in improving vocabulary mastery while creating a more interesting learning experience for students, especially in 4th grade of elementary school. Additional Information: Persepsi Siswa terhadap Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek dalam Meningkatkan Kosakata pada Kelas 4 SDN Baketor Faradila Sarahwati 2223210090 Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pembelajaran berbasis proyek dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa dan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Peserta penelitian ini adalah 34 siswa kelas 4 SDN Baketor pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, wawancara, dan observasi kelas. Hasil wawancara dengan guru menunjukkan bahwa rendahnya penggunaan kosakata bahasa Inggris oleh siswa dipengaruhi oleh kurangnya motivasi belajar, perbedaan gaya belajar, dan proses belajar yang kurang menarik. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi PjBL memiliki dampak positif dalam meningkatkan kosakata siswa. Analisis kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa semua aspek kolaborasi, disiplin, keaslian, dan keterlibatan mendapatkan skor rata-rata tinggi, yang berarti menunjukkan persepsi yang sangat positif. Wawancara dengan siswa mengungkapkan bahwa belajar melalui PJBL membuat pelajaran lebih menyenangkan dan membantu mereka mengingat kosakata dengan lebih mudah. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa PJBL efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata sambil menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menarik bagi siswa, terutama di kelas 4 sekolah dasar.
