Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of the supporting elements of dance through the application of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Cilegon with 32 students of grade VII F in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed a significant increase in student understanding. Learning completion was measured based on the average class score, which increased from 72.16 in the pre-cycle to 76.56 in the first cycle, and reached 83.59 in the second cycle. Furthermore, student participation also increased through tournament activities that combined elements of competition and cooperation. Thus, the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model is effective in improving student understanding and creating an active, enjoyable, and collaborative learning atmosphere.
