Abstract
This study discusses the local community that has a strong attachment to Merak Kecil Island Tourism. The participation of the Anak Pulo community in developing Merak Kecil Island Tourism plays an essential role in practices of development and empowerment. The purpose of this research is to identify the forms of participation carried out by the Anak Pulo community, including planning, implementation, benefit-taking, and evaluation. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The informants in this research consist of the Anak Pulo community and tourists visiting Merak Kecil Island. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The validity of the data was examined using source and technique triangulation. Data analysis employed Miles and Huberman’s interactive model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this research illustrate that the Anak Pulo community has an active role in various stages of tourism development, ranging from planning tourism programs, conducting communal work, to managing the social and economic impacts of tourism activities.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini membahas mengenai komunitas lokal yang memiliki keterikatan erat dengan Wisata Pulau Merak Kecil. Partisipasi dari komunitas Anak Pulo dalam mengembangkan Wisata Pulau Merak Kecil menjadi bagian penting dalam praktik pembangunan dan pemberdayaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk partisipasi yang dilakukan oleh komunitas Anak Pulo, meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengambilan manfaat, dan evaluasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Adapun informan dalam penelitian ini yaitu komunitas Anak Pulo dan wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Pulau Merak Kecil. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi. Keabsahan data diperiksa menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Analisa data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa komunitas Anak Pulo memiliki peran aktif dalam berbagai tahapan pengembangan wisata, mulai dari merencanakan program wisata, melakukan kerja bakti, hingga mengelola dampak sosial dan ekonomi dari kegiatan wisata. | |||||||||
