Abstract
This research is motivated by the low ability of female students with mild intellectual disabilities to manage menstrual hygiene at State Special School 01, Serang City. The students experienced difficulty in properly inserting, removing, washing, wrapping, and disposing of sanitary napkins. This study aimed to improve these skills through the drill and practice method. The research method used was a quasiexperimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of four female students with mild intellectual disabilities. Data were collected through observations of self-development skills during four meetings. The results showed an increase in the average score from 52.7 in the pretest to 63.7 in the posttest. The students became more meticulous, independent, and consistent in maintaining menstrual hygiene. In conclusion, the drill and practice method is effective in improving menstrual hygiene management skills in female students with mild intellectual disabilities. | Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswi tunagrahita ringan dalam melakukan manajemen kebersihan menstruasi di Sekolah Khusus Negeri 01 Kota Serang. Siswi mengalami kesulitan dalam memasang, melepaskan, mencuci, membungkus, dan membuang pembalut secara benar. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut melalui metode drill and practice. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari empat siswi tunagrahita ringan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi keterampilan bina diri selama empat kali pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata skor dari 52,7 saat pretest menjadi 63,7 saat posttest. Siswi menjadi lebih teliti, mandiri, dan konsisten dalam menjaga kebersihan saat menstruasi. Kesimpulannya, metode drill and practice efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan manajemen kebersihan menstruasi pada siswi tunagrahita ringan.
