Abstract

This study analyzes the optimal completion time for the barge construction project at PT. XYZ using CPM (Critical Path Method) and PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) to address common delays in Indonesia's shipyard industry, such as material shortages, equipment and labor limitations, and weather impacts. Primary data were collected directly from the project site and interviews with relevant stakeholders, then analyzed using POM-QM and Excel software to develop the work structure, identify critical path activities, and estimate stage durations accurately. CPM calculates the total project duration deterministically, while PERT accounts for duration variations due to uncertainties. The analysis results indicate the project can be completed in 442.5 days with effective critical path management and optimal risk mitigation, such as schedule monitoring and resource optimization. This research emphasizes the importance of integrated scheduling techniques for timely project control in line with national maritime standards.
