Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Self-Help Book berbasis teknik Expressive Writting sebagai media bimbingan dan konseling untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap keterbukaan diri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMAS Pasundan Pandeglang tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket,wawancara dan validasi ahli yang mencakup aspek materi, media, bahasa dan praktisi. Hasil validasi menunjukan bahwa produk Self-Help Book termasuk dalam kategori “sangat layak” dengan nilai rata-rata penilaian ahli sebesar 89%. Uji coba terbatas memperlihatkan peningkatakn pemahaman siswa tentang keterbukaan diri dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,62% yang termasuk dalam kategori “efektif”. Dengan demikian, Self-Help Book berbasis teknik Expressive Writting dinyatakan efektif dan layak digunakan sebagai media pendukung layanan bimbingan dan konseling untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai keterbukaan diri.

This research aims to develop a Self-Help Book based on the Expressive Writing technique as a guidance and counseling medium to enhance students’ understanding of self-disclosure. The study applied the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects of the study were tenth-grade students of SMAS Pasundan Pandeglang in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and expert validation covering material, media, language, and practitioner aspects. The validation results indicated that the Self-Help Book was categorized as “highly feasible,” with an average expert rating of 89%. Limited trials demonstrated an improvement in students’ understanding of self-disclosure with N-Gain score of 0.62, which falls under the “effective” category. Therefore, the Self-Help Book based on the Expressive Writing technique is considered feasible and effective as a supporting medium in guidance and counseling services to improve students’ understanding of self-disclosure.
