Abstract
This study was motivated by the low ability of students to express mathematical ideas in written, symbolic, or visual forms. Students tend to be passive and have difficulty explaining the reasons or steps for solving problems in mathematical representations. One of the causes is teacher-centered learning and the lack of interactive media that help students understand concepts concretely. To overcome this, a learning model is needed that actively involves students in discovering concepts and expressing mathematical ideas. The guided inquiry model assisted by GeoGebra was chosen because it allows students to explore and visualize mathematical concepts dynamically. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the guided inquiry model assisted by GeoGebra on the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of three eighth-grade classes at SMP Negeri 10 Jakarta in the 2024/2025 academic year, selected using cluster random sampling, namely experimental class 1 (guided inquiry assisted by GeoGebra), experimental class 2 (guided inquiry without GeoGebra), and control class (conventional learning). Data were obtained through mathematical communication ability tests and analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey HSD tests. The results showed significant differences between the three classes. Students who learned with the guided inquiry model assisted by GeoGebra obtained a higher average mathematical communication ability than the other two classes. Thus, the use of GeoGebra in guided inquiry learning can strengthen the effectiveness of mathematics learning and improve students' mathematical communication skills.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam mengemukakan ide matematika secara tertulis, simbolik, maupun visual. Siswa cenderung pasif dan kesulitan menjelaskan alasan atau langkah penyelesaian dalam bentuk representasi matematis. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru serta minimnya penggunaan media interaktif yang membantu siswa memahami konsep secara konkret. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, diperlukan model pembelajaran yang melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam menemukan konsep dan mengekspresikan ide matematis. Model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan GeoGebra dipilih karena memungkinkan siswa mengeksplorasi dan memvisualisasikan konsep matematika secara dinamis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan GeoGebra terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas tiga kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Jakarta tahun ajaran 2024/2025 yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling, yaitu kelas eksperimen 1 (inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan GeoGebra), kelas eksperimen 2 (inkuiri terbimbing tanpa GeoGebra), dan kelas kontrol (pembelajaran konvensional). Data diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA satu arah serta uji Tukey HSD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara ketiga kelas. Siswa yang belajar dengan model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan GeoGebra memperoleh rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis lebih tinggi dibandingkan dua kelas lainnya. Dengan demikian, penggunaan GeoGebra dalam pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat memperkuat efektivitas pembelajaran matematika dan meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. | |||||||||
