Abstract
This study was motivated by the low level of creative thinking among students in sociology classes, as reflected in their low grades and lack of involvement in the learning process. This study intends to examine the effect of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model on the creative thinking skills of tenth-grade students on the subject of social institutions as an alternative learning approach. Quantitative research using a non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design is the methodology. Purposive sampling was used to choose the study's sample, which included class X-2 as the experimental class and class X-4 as the control class. The instruments utilized were test instruments in the form of essay questions and non-test instruments in the form of questionnaires. Based on the results of hypothesis testing of posttest data using the Mann-Whitney U nonparametric test, there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group with a significance value of 0.018 (p < 0.05), with the conclusion that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. This means that the application of the Creative Problem Solving learning model had an effect on students' creative thinking skills in social institution material. The N-Gain results showed that the experimental class experienced a more superior improvement (moderate category) in each creative thinking indicator compared to the control class. The overall student response showed a good response with an average percentage of 68%.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam pembelajaran sosiologi yang tercermin dari rendahnya nilai siswa dan kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Creative Problem Solving (CPS) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas X pada materi lembaga sosial sebagai alternatif pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain Quasi Experimental tipe Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel pada penelitian ini diambil secara purposive sampling yang terdiri dari kelas X-2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X-4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu instrumen tes berupa soal uraian (essay) an instrumen nontes berupa angket. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis terhadap data posttest menggunakan uji non parametrik dari Mann-Whitney U menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,018 (p < 0,05), dengan kesimpulan H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Artinya, penerapan model pembelajaran Creative Problem Solving berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi lembaga sosial. Hasil N-Gain menunjukkan kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan yang lebih unggul (kategori sedang) disetiap indikator berpikir kreatif dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Adapun respon siswa secara keseluruhan menunjukkan tanggapan yang baik dengan rata-rata presentase sebesar 68% . | |||||||||
