Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak pengembangan Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), kualitas institusi, globalisasi, dan faktor makroekonomi, yaitu suku bunga bank sentral dan pertumbuhan GDP terhadap stabilitas sistem keuangan pada tahun 2017-2023. Studi ini meneliti 22 negara berkembang dengan menggunakan pendekatan Generalized Method of Moments (GMM). Hasil dari penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa CBDC berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap stabilitas sistem keuangan, Kualitas institusi berpengaruh negatif terhadap stabilitas sistem keuangan, globalisasi berpengaruh positif terhadap stabilitas sistem keuangan, Suku bunga bank sentral berpengaruh positif terhadap stabilitas sistem keuangan, dan pertumbuhan GDP berpengaruh positif terhadap stabilitas sistem keuangan. Dengan adanya bukti dampak negatif dari pengembangan CBDC, mengindikasikan bahwa jika tidak direncanakan dengan hati-hati pengembangan CBDC akan mengganggu stabilitas sistem keuangan. Ketika rencana penerbitannya tidak dirancang dengan hati-hati dan memastikan infrastruktur dan mitigasi risiko mendukung dan memadai akan menimbulkan risiko yang berdampak tidak hanya terhadap stabilitas sistem keuangan tapi juga dapat menggangu stabilitas ekonomi. | Additional Information: | This study aims to analyze the impact of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) development, institutional quality, globalization, and macroeconomic factors, namely central bank interest rates and GDP growth on financial system stability in 2017-2023. The study examined 22 developing countries using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) approach. The results of the study show that CBDC has a significant negative effect on financial system stability, institutional quality has a negative effect on financial system stability, globalization has a positive effect on financial system stability, central bank interest rates have a positive effect on financial system stability, and GDP growth has a positive effect on financial system stability. With the evidence of the negative impact of CBDC development, it indicates that if not carefully planned, the development of CBDC will disrupt the stability of the financial system. When the issuance plan is not carefully designed and ensures that the infrastructure and risk mitigation are supportive and adequate, it will create risks that impact not only the stability of the financial system but can also disrupt economic stability.
