Abstract
The potential of adolescents needs to be developed, but there are often several things that can hinder the development of potential, one of which is negative conformity in adolescents. This study aims to determine the effect of group guidance using problem-solving techniques on preventing the impact of negative conformity in adolescents. The background of this study stems from the phenomenon of increasing tendency of students at SMPN 2 Kota Serang to follow peer pressure without considering the consequences. The research method used is a quantitative quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study consisted of 118 students, and the sampling technique used purposive sampling, resulting in 20 students who had low scores on the questionnaire regarding understanding of negative conformity. The sample consisted of two groups, namely the experimental group that received problem-solving technique group counseling services and the control group that did not receive any treatment. The instrument used was a questionnaire on understanding negative conformity developed by the researcher, which consisted of five aspects, namely social pressure, social discomfort, loss of identity, lack of information, and loss of responsibility. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding after participating in group counseling on problem-solving techniques, with an average pre-test score for the experimental group of 7.4 (low category) and an average post-test score of 25.8 (high category). In addition, a hypothesis test was conducted using Mann-Whitney analysis, which showed that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.001 < 0.05, so Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Thus, problem-solving technique group guidance is effective in helping adolescents prevent the impact of negative conformity in their social environment. | Additional Information: | Potensi remaja perlu dikembangkan, namun seringkali terdapat beberapa hal yang dapat menghambat pengembangan potensi salah satunya adalah konformitas negatif pada remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik problem solving terhadap pencegahan dampak konformitas negatif pada remaja. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari fenomena meningkatnya kecenderungan siswa SMPN 2 Kota Serang untuk mengikuti tekanan kelompok teman sebaya tanpa mempertimbangkan konsekuensi yang ditimbulkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah kuantitatif metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design.. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 118 siswa, adapun teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan mendapatkan 20 siswa yang memiliki skor rendah dari hasil angket pemahaman mengenai konformitas negatif. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang mendapatkan layanan bimbingan kelompok teknik problem solving dan kelompok kontrol yang tidak mendapatkan perlakuan. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket pemahaman mengenai konformitas negatif yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti, yang terdiri dari lima aspek, yaitu tekanan sosial, ketidaknyamanan sosial, kehilangan identitas, kurangnya informasi, dan kehilangan tanggung jawab. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman peserta didik setelah mengikuti bimbingan kelompok teknik problem solving, dengan rata-rata nilai pre-test kelompok eksperimen sebesar 7,4 (kategori rendah) dan rata-rata nilai post-test sebesar 25,8 (kategori tinggi). Selain itu, dilakukan uji hipotesis dengan analisis uji Mann-Whitney, diketahui nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) yaitu 0.001 < 0.05 maka Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, bimbingan kelompok teknik problem solving efektif digunakan untuk membantu remaja mencegah dampak konformitas negatif pada lingkungan sosialnya.
