Abstract

Emotion regulation is an individual process in managing, feeling, and expressing emotions adaptively. This study aims to describe the negative emotion regulation profile of female students in class X before the intervention, as well as to analyze the influence of roleplay techniques with hand puppet media on their negative emotion regulation ability in MAN 1 Serang City. The method used was quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of 20 female students with low pretest scores, divided into two groups. namely experiment and control. The experimental group received roleplay intervention with hand puppets, while the control group followed group guidance services. The results of the analysis showed that the change in the N-Gain score of the experimental group was greater (0.64 or 63.5%) than that of the control group (0.37 or 36.6%), with a difference of 0.27. The hypothesis analysis produced a significance value of <0.001, which is smaller than 0.05 so that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected, which means that roleplay techniques with hand puppet media have been proven to affect the ability to regulate negative emotions in adolescent girls.

Additional Information: Regulasi emosi merupakan proses individu dalam mengelola, merasakan, dan mengekspresikan emosi secara adaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil regulasi emosi negatif peserta didik perempuan kelas X sebelum intervensi, serta menganalisis pengaruh teknik roleplay dengan media hand puppet terhadap kemampuan regulasi emosi negatif mereka di MAN 1 Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 20 peserta didik perempuan dengan skor pretest rendah, dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu eksperimen dan kontrol. Kelompok eksperimen mendapat intervensi roleplay dengan hand puppet, sedangkan kelompok kontrol mengikuti layanan bimbingan kelompok. Hasil analisis menunjukkan perubahan skor N-Gain kelompok eksperimen lebih besar (0,64 atau 63,5%) dibanding kelompok kontrol (0,37 atau 36,6%), dengan selisih 0,27. Analisis hipotesis menghasilkan nilai signifikansi < 0,001, lebih kecil dari 0,05 sehingga hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak, yang artinya teknik roleplay dengan media hand puppet terbukti berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan regulasi emosi negatif remaja perempuan.
