Abstract

Paper soap is a disposable soap made using water-soluble paper which has the advantages of being a hygienic, practical, light, and environmentally friendly soap using two natural ingredients that have antibacterial properties from Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed extract and lemon peel (Citrus limon L.) which can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This research was conducted in July 2025. The manufacture of paper soap and analysis of pH, irritation, foam height, organoleptic, humidity were carried out at the Aquatic Products Technology Laboratory (TPHP), Department of Fisheries Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. Antibacterial testing was carried out at the Biotech Center Laboratory of the Bogor Agricultural University. This research was in the form of a laboratory experimental study consisting of 3 treatment levels AP1 (K. alvarezii 0%, lemon peel 10%), AP2 (K. alvarezii 5%, lemon peel 5%), and AP3 (K. alvarezii 10%, lemon peel 0%) with 3 replications. The results obtained in the antibacterial test of AP1 treatment with a concentration of 0% K. alvarezii seaweed extract and 10% lemon peel extract were the best treatment with an inhibition zone value of 4.42 mm and included in the weak inhibition zone category. The results of the humidity test showed an increase of 16.99% in women and 13.28% in men, foam height of 3.33% (according to SNI 3532:2016), the hedonic test on appearance, aroma, and color had a liking value, and a pH value of 9.37 (according to SNI 2588:2017) and there was no irritation to the volunteer's skin.

Additional Information: Sabun kertas adalah sabun sekali pakai yang dibuat menggunakan kertas larut air yang memiliki keunggulan sebagai sabun higienis, praktis, ringan, dan ramah lingkungan. Sabun ini menggunakan dua bahan alami yang memiliki sifat antibakteri, yaitu ekstrak rumput laut (Kappaphycus alvarezii) dan kulit lemon (Citrus limon L.), yang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2025. Pembuatan sabun kertas dan analisis pH, iritasi, ketinggian busa, organoleptik, dan kelembaban dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknologi Pengolahan Hasil Perairan (TPHP), Departemen Ilmu Perikanan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Uji antibakteri dilakukan di Laboratorium Pusat Bioteknologi Universitas Pertanian Bogor. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental laboratorium yang terdiri dari 3 taraf perlakuan: AP1 (K. alvarezii 0%, kulit lemon 10%), AP2 (K. alvarezii 5%, kulit lemon 5%), dan AP3 (K. alvarezii 10%, kulit lemon 0%) dengan 3 ulangan. Hasil uji antibakteri pada perlakuan AP1 dengan konsentrasi 0% ekstrak rumput laut K. alvarezii dan 10% ekstrak kulit lemon merupakan perlakuan terbaik dengan nilai zona penghambatan 4,42 mm dan termasuk dalam kategori zona penghambatan lemah. Hasil uji kelembaban menunjukkan peningkatan sebesar 16,99% pada wanita dan 13,28% pada pria, ketinggian busa sebesar 3,33% (sesuai SNI 3532:2016), uji hedonik pada kenampakan, aroma, dan warna memiliki nilai suka dengan skala nilai 4, dan pH sebesar 9,37% (sesuai SNI 2588:2017) dan tidak ada iritasi pada kulit sukarelawan.
