Abstract

Metabolic syndrome is a complex cluster of metabolic disorders that includes insulin resistance, central obesity, dyslipidemia, and hypertension, which act as major risk factors for coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The global prevalence of metabolic syndrome ranges from 20–25%, while in Indonesia it reaches 23–46%. The increasing prevalence of metabolic syndrome is closely related to lifestyle changes, a high-calorie, low-fiber diet, and lack of physical activity. In workers, especially those working shifts, the risk of metabolic syndrome increases due to irregular eating patterns and excessive nutrient intake. This study aims to describe the relationship between dietary patterns, nutritional status, and the incidence of metabolic syndrome among employees of PT X as an effort to support early prevention and control of metabolic disease risk factors in the workplace.
