Abstract

This research aimed to determine any significant effect of the GOGA Application on students' speaking skills at SMP Islam Pariskian. This research used a quantitative research method that implemented an experimental research design. This study involved 20 students as the sample, consisting of 20 students in the experimental class and 20 in the control class. The pre-test was given to both classes at the first meeting, and then the post-test at the last meeting. To find the effect, the post-test was provided to both classes. The hypothesis testing was computed using the independent sample t-test through SPSS 27.0. The result demonstrated the positive effect of the GOGA Application on students' speaking skills at SMP Islam Pariskian. The result of Sig. (2-tailed) of Independent T-test at 0.000, lower than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, this demonstrates that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. This means that using the self-assessment method increases students' speaking skills. Hence, using the GOGA Application on Speaking Ability Among Indonesian Junior High School EFL Learners has a significant effect.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dari Aplikasi GOGA terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa di SMP Islam Pariskian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian eksperimental. Penelitian ini melibatkan 20 siswa sebagai sampel, terdiri dari 20 siswa di kelas eksperimen dan 20 siswa di kelas kontrol. Ujian pra-tes diberikan kepada kedua kelas pada pertemuan pertama, dan ujian pasca-tes pada pertemuan terakhir. Untuk menentukan efeknya, ujian pasca-tes diberikan kepada kedua kelas. Uji hipotesis dilakukan menggunakan uji t sampel independen melalui SPSS 27.0. Hasil menunjukkan adanya efek positif dari Aplikasi GOGA terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa di SMP Islam Pariskian. Hasil Sig. (2-tailed) uji t sampel independen sebesar 0.000, lebih kecil dari 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). Oleh karena itu, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif diterima. Artinya, penggunaan metode penilaian diri meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa. Dengan demikian, penggunaan Aplikasi GOGA pada Kemampuan Berbicara Siswa SMP Indonesia yang Belajar Bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa Asing memiliki efek yang signifikan.
