Abstract

Water is a significant element in the life of every living thing, especially human beings. However, the availability of water cannot be guaranteed in the future or even now. The major cause of water pollution is the conversion of open lands into residential and industrial areas. The aim of this study is to identify the quality of groundwater, namely well water, in Ciwandan District, Cilegon City. The research focused on analyzing the groundwater quality in Ciwandan District,Cilegon City, as part of fulfilling the demand for clean water amidst rising environmental pollution due to industrialization and population growth. The study was carried out by analyzing physical parameters (temperature, TDS, turbidity, color, odor), chemical parameters (pH, nitrate, nitrite, hexavalent chromium, iron, manganese), and biological parameters (Escherichia coli, total coliform) and comparing them to Indonesia's Ministry of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023 and the World Health Organization (WHO) water quality standards. Data analysis was carried out by the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment Water Quality Index (CCME-WQI) method, and spatial mapping was carried out with the use of QGIS in order to produce a distribution
