Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of management control systems on firm performance with exploitative innovation as a mediating variable. The research conducted on manufacturing companies located in Cilegon City and Serang Regency. The sampling method used convenience sampling, using a quantitative approach with primary data collected through questionnaires. The Data analysis method uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The study involved 9 manufacturing companies consisting of 35 middle managers and 28 lower managers. The results indicate that management control systems have a significant positive effect on firm performance. Furthermore, exploitative innovation proved significantly mediate the relationship between management control systems and firm performance.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh sistem pengendalian manajemen terhadap kinerja perusahaan dengan inovasi eksploitatif sebagai variabel mediasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada perusahaan manufaktur di Kota Cilegon dan Kabupaten Serang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan convenience sampling dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan data primer melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Metode analisis dilakukan dengan pendekatan Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) yang berbasis Partial Least Square (PLS) dengan software SmartPLS 4.0. Penelitian ini melibatkan 9 perusahaan manufaktur yang terdiri atas 35 middle manager dan 28 lower manager. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem pengendalian manajemen berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Selain itu, inovasi eksploitatif terbukti berperan sebagai mediator yang signifikan dalam memperkuat hubungan antara sistem pengendalian manajemen dan kinerja perusahaan.
