Abstract

Beginning writing skills are fundamental to more complex writing abilities. Innovative and appropriate learning media are needed to train students' fine motor skills. This study will examine the effectiveness of using kinetic sand in improving the basic writing skills of students with intellectual disabilities at SKH Negeri 02 Lebak. This study uses a quantitative method based on the philosophy of positivism. This method is used to examine a specific population or sample by collecting data through research instruments. The data analysis is quantitative/statistical and aims to test the hypotheses that have been formulated previously. The number of samples taken in this study was three students with intellectual disabilities, consisting of two students in the third grade and one student in the fourth grade of elementary school (SDLB) at SKH Negeri 02 Lebak, which were analyzed using data collection techniques through tests. The results of the study show that there is a significant increase in the early writing skills of students with intellectual disabilities at SKH Negeri 02 Lebak.

Keterampilan menulis permulaan sangat fundamental untuk kemampuan menulis yang lebih kompleks. Media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan tepat sangat dibutuhkan untuk melatih motorik halus siswa. Penelitian ini akan menguji efektivitas penggunaan pasir kinetik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan siswa tunagrahita di SKH Negeri 02 Lebak. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode kuantitatif dimana metode ini berlandaskan pada filsafat positivisme. Metode ini digunakan untuk meneliti populasi atau sampel spesifik dengan mengumpulkan data melalui instrumen penelitian. Analisis datanya bersifat kuantitatif/statistik dan bertujuan untuk menguji hipotesis yang telah dirumuskan sebelumnya. Jumlah sampel yang diambil pada penelitian ini yaitu tiga siswa tunagrahita, yang terdiri dari dua siswa yang duduk di bangku kelas III dan satu siswa yang duduk di bangku kelas IV sekolah dasar (SDLB) di SKh Negeri 02 Lebak yang dianalisis dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan menulis permulaan siswa tunagrahita di SKH Negeri 02 Lebak.
