Abstract

Current environmental problems are often referred to as the triple planetary crisis, where this phenomenon refers to three environmental problems, namely climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss. This phenomenon occurs because of the lack of public concern for the environment. In the midst of the environmental issue phenomenon, a person must be able to protect the environment, the most effective way to produce a generation that cares about the environment can start from the world of education. Based on observations and interviews that have been carried out, the current ecoliteracy skills of students are still not optimal, so this study aims to describe the results of validation from experts and readability tests by students on the development of ecoliteracy-based pocket books for junior high school students in grade VII on the material of interactions between living things and the environment. This study uses the Research and Development method with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) development model, implemented at a Public Junior High School in Serang City with a sample of 30 grade VII students. The analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively with the results of the study showing that ecoliteracy-based pocket books have a "very valid" level of validity. Validation by experts obtained a percentage of 84% and readability test with a percentage of 88%. Based on the results, the developed teaching materials are considered very valid, so they are worthy of being used for the learning process and further testing on a wider scale.

Additional Information: Permasalahan lingkungan saat ini sering disebut dengan triple planetary crisis, dimana fenomena ini mengacu pada tiga permasahalan di lingkungan, yaitu perubahan iklim (climate change), polusi (pollution) dan kehilangan keanekaragaman hayati (biodeiversity loss). Fenomena ini terjadi karena masih kurangnya kepedulian maksyrakat kepada lingkungan. Ditengah fenomena isu lingkungan seseorang harus mampu untuk menjaga lingkungan, cara yang paling efektif untuk menghasilkan generasi yang peduli pada lingkungan dapat dimulai dari dunia pendidikan. Berdasarkan observasi dan wawancara yang sudah dilakukan kemampuan ekoliterasi peserta didik saat ini masih belum optimal, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil validasi dari para ahli dan uji keterbacaan oleh peserta didik terhadap pengembangan buku saku berbasis ekoliterasi untuk peserta didik SMP kelas VII pada materi interaksi makhluk hidup dan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation), dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri di Kota Serang dengan sampel 30 peserta didik kelas VII. Analisis dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan bahwa buku saku berbasis ekoliterasi memiliki tingkat kevalidan “sangat valid”. Validasi oleh ahli memperoleh persentase 84% dan uji keterbacaan dengan persentase 88%. Berdasarkan hasil, bahan ajar yang dikembangkan dinilai sangat valid, sehingga layak untuk digunakan untuk proses pembelajaran dan uji lebih lanjut dengan skala yang lebih luas.
