Abstract
Religious character is an essential aspect in shaping students’ personalities based on religious values such as obedience in worship, honesty, discipline, and mutual respect. This study aims to examine the planning, implementation, and impact of the Pelajar Tangerang Mengaji (PTM) program on the development of students’ religious character at SDN Cibodas 8 Kota Tangerang. The program is a form of religious habituation activity conducted routinely every morning before class begins, focusing on tadarus (Qur’an recitation) and sholat dhuha (Duha prayer) in congregation. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the PTM program was systematically planned through collaboration among the principal, Islamic education teachers, and other school staff. The implementation runs in an orderly manner and receives positive responses from students. The program has a significant impact on fostering religious character among fifth-grade students, particularly in aspects such as obedience to Allah, sincerity, self-confidence, creativity, responsibility, honesty, and discipline. However, the aspect of respecting others still requires further guidance, as not all students consistently demonstrate this behavior. Overall, PTM has proven to be an effective means of instilling religious values in elementary school environments and contributes to shaping students’ character from an early age.

| Additional Information: | Karakter religius merupakan aspek penting dalam membentuk kepribadian peserta didik berdasarkan nilai-nilai keagamaan, seperti ketaatan beribadah, kejujuran, kedisiplinan, dan saling menghormati. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan dampak program Pelajar Tangerang Mengaji (PTM) terhadap penanaman karakter religius peserta didik di SDN Cibodas 8 Kota Tangerang. Program ini merupakan kegiatan pembiasaan keagamaan yang dilaksanakan secara rutin setiap pagi sebelum pembelajaran dimulai, dengan aktivitas utama berupa tadarus Al-Qur’an dan sholat dhuha berjamaah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program PTM dirancang secara sistematis melalui kerja sama antara kepala sekolah, guru pendidikan agama, dan tenaga pendidik lainnya. Pelaksanaan program berlangsung tertib dan mendapat tanggapan positif dari peserta didik. Program ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap pembentukan karakter religius peserta didik kelas V, khususnya dalam aspek taat kepada Allah, Ikhlas, percaya diri, kreatif, tanggung jawab, jujur, dan disiplin. Meskipun demikian, aspek menghargai orang lain masih memerlukan pembinaan lebih lanjut karena belum sepenuhnya terbentuk pada seluruh peserta didik. Secara keseluruhan, PTM terbukti menjadi sarana yang efektif dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius di lingkungan sekolah dasar dan berkontribusi dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik sejak usia dini. | |||||||||
