Abstract
Abstract This study aims to evaluate the impact of implementing the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes in the subject of Fundamentals of Automotive Engineering (DDTO) at SMKN 2 Kota Serang. The study was motivated by low student achievement, lack of motivation, and limited active participation in the learning process, which had previously relied on conventional lecture methods. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class that applied the Jigsaw model and a control class that used a conventional learning approach. The instruments used were pre-tests and post-tests to measure cognitive learning outcomes. The analysis results showed a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental and control classes, as evidenced by the paired sample t-test with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The average post-test score of the experimental class reached 85.30, while the control class scored 74.29. These findings indicate that the Jigsaw learning model significantly improves student learning outcomes. Therefore, the Jigsaw model can serve as an alternative active learning method to enhance the quality of vocational education in the field of automotive engineering. | Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dampak penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Dasar-Dasar Teknik Otomotif (DDTO) di SMKN 2 Kota Serang. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya capaian belajar siswa, kurangnya motivasi, dan minimnya partisipasi aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran yang selama ini menggunakan metode ceramah konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas: kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan model Jigsaw dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur hasil belajar pada ranah kognitif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara hasil belajar kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, yang dibuktikan melalui uji paired sample t-test dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Rata-rata nilai post-test kelas eksperimen mencapai 85,30, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 74,29. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa model pembelajaran Jigsaw secara signifikan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, model Jigsaw dapat menjadi alternatif metode pembelajaran aktif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan vokasi di bidang otomotif.
