Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the cooperative learning model "Make a Match" on the cognitive learning outcomes of Grade X students in the subject of Sociology, specifically on the topic of social phenomena in multicultural societies at SMAN 1 Pabuaran. The research employed a quasi-experimental method using a non-equivalent control group design, which is a type of quantitative research. The sample consisted of two classes: Class X-2 as the experimental group and Class X3 as the control group, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using pre-test and post-test instruments consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions. The collected data were analyzed using validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, homogeneity testing, hypothesis testing, and N-gain analysis. The results showed a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students taught using the "Make a Match" model and those taught using conventional methods. The independent sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.005 < 0.05, indicating that H₁ was accepted and H₀ was rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model "Make a Match" has a significant effect on the cognitive learning outcomes of Grade X Sociology students at SMAN 1 Pabuaran Keyword: Cognitive Learning Outcomes, Sociology, Make a match cooperative model

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X mata pelajaran Sosiologi pada pokok bahasan ragam gejala sosial dalam masyarakat multikultural di SMAN 1 Pabuaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu (quasi eksperiment) dengan desain non-equivalent control group design yang merupakan salah satu jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas X-2 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas X-3 sebagai kelompok kontrol yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen pre-test dan post-test berupa 20 soal pilihan ganda. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis melalui uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis, dan analisis N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan model make a match dengan siswa yang diajar dengan metode konvensional. Hasil uji t sampel independen menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,005 < 0,05 yang berarti H₁ diterima dan H₀ ditolak. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X mata pelajaran Sosiologi di SMAN 1 Pabuaran.
