Abstract
ABSTRACT The primary objective of this study is to assess the extent to which the use of Lumio by SMART as a learning medium influences students' cognitive learning outcomes in the subject of Pancasila and Civic Education. This research adopts a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically utilizing the pre-test post-test only control group model. The study population comprised all eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Balaraja during the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 383 students. A purposive sampling method was used to select 78 participants, who were divided into two distinct groups: Class VIII-1 served as the control group and was taught using PowerPoint as a conventional instructional tool, while Class VIII-5 represented the experimental group, receiving instruction through the interactive Lumio by SMART platform. The primary instrument used to collect data was a cognitive learning test, supported by relevant documentation to strengthen data validity. Data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test, which yielded a significance value of 0.000 (0.000 < 0.05). This result indicates that the integration of Lumio by SMART in the learning process has a significant and positive impact on students' cognitive achievement, Consequently the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted, whereas the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental), yaitu model pre-test post-test only control group. Subjek penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Balaraja tahun ajaran 2024/2025, yang berjumlah 383 peserta didik. Sampel ditentukan melalui teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 78 siswa, yang terbagi dalam dua kelompok: kelas VIII-1 sebagai kelompok kontrol yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan bantuan media PowerPoint, dan kelas VIII-5 sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang dibelajarkan menggunakan media interaktif Lumio by SMART. Instrumen utama dalam pengumpulan data adalah tes hasil belajar kognitif, yang dilengkapi dengan dokumentasi sebagai sumber data pendukung. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji statistik independent sample t-test, yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 ( 0,000 < 0,05). Hasil tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan dari penggunaan media Lumio by SMART terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa, dengan demikian hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima, dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak.
