Abstract
Serang City is one of the cities in Banten Province that has experienced conversion of agricultural land due to the high rate of population growth, but in addition, the increase in population has led to increased demand for agricultural products. This land limitation is a potential for business actors to start building non-conventional farms, one of which is hydroponics which allows agricultural cultivation on non-agricultural land. This study aimed to determine how much income was obtained from hydroponic farming, and to prove whether hydroponic farming could be used as a business reference for business actors in Serang City by analyzing the contribution of hydroponic farming to the total income of farmer families. This research was descriptive quantitative, and the respondents were determined using a census sampling technique, namely all hydroponic business actors in Serang City. The data processing methods used in this study consisted of cost analysis, revenue and income analysis, and analysis of the contribution of hydroponic farming income to the total income of the farmer's family. The results show that the average contribution of hydroponic farming to household income is 21.71% and is included in the low category. This study concludes that hydroponic farming is not yet able to become a business reference for business actors in Serang City.

| Additional Information: | Kota Serang merupakan salah satu kota di Provinsi Banten yang mengalami konversi lahan pertanian akibat tingginya laju pertumbuhan penduduk, namun selain itu, peningkatan jumlah penduduk juga menyebabkan meningkatnya permintaan akan produk pertanian. Keterbatasan lahan ini menjadi potensi bagi pelaku usaha untuk mulai membangun pertanian non-konvensional, salah satunya adalah hidroponik yang memungkinkan budidaya pertanian di lahan non-pertanian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan seberapa besar pendapatan yang diperoleh dari pertanian hidroponik, serta membuktikan apakah pertanian hidroponik dapat digunakan sebagai acuan bisnis bagi pelaku usaha di Kota Serang dengan menganalisis kontribusi pertanian hidroponik terhadap total pendapatan keluarga petani. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif, dan responden ditentukan menggunakan teknik sampling sensus, yaitu semua pelaku usaha hidroponik di Kota Serang. Metode pengolahan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi analisis biaya, analisis pendapatan dan penghasilan, serta analisis kontribusi penghasilan pertanian hidroponik terhadap total penghasilan keluarga petani. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kontribusi rata-rata pertanian hidroponik terhadap penghasilan rumah tangga adalah 21,71% dan termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pertanian hidroponik belum dapat menjadi acuan bisnis bagi pelaku usaha di Kota Serang. | |||||||||
